What can you see in China in two weeks?

Day 1 - Arrive at Shanghai

We will meet you and get you checked in at your hotel. You can either rest after your journey or explore on your own before our busy two-week schedule begins for the next few days begins.

Day 2 - Shanghai

  • The Bund: the former foreign settlement, ranged along with imposing buildings of the colonial period.
  • Nanjing Road: the busiest shopping street in Shanghai.
  • Yu Garden: It is characteristic of the architectural style of the Ming Dynasty and it used to be a private garden with 400 years' history. In front of the garden, there is a market called Yu Market.
  • Jade Buddha Temple: It is one of the main tourist highlights of Shanghai and it's also the most famous active temples in China. If you are lucky, you can watch the monks conduct a ceremony in a side room.
The Jade Buddha Temple is located in the city of Shanghai and is one of its famous Buddhist temples, dating back over a hundred years. The Silk Museum and Factory

Shanghai is a shopping paradise of Asia, and the special local product is silk. At the neighborhood markets here, there are many items made with synthetic silk mixed with Nylon. Most people cannot distinguish this from pure silk either by sight or touch. You can buy 100% silk items at the Silk Museum and factory which is next door to the Jade Buddha Temple. As well buying 100% silk with confidence you can see and learn firsthand how the silkworm creates a cocoon and how this is turned into silk. You can also see how this is turned into fantastic silk products.

 

Day 3 - Shanghai

Tour to Shanghai Museum, Jade carving factory, Oriental Pearl TV Tower.
    • Shanghai Museum: The biggest museum in China, with a collection of over 120,000 pieces of Chinese art & cultural relics. The museum is especially famous for its treasures of bronzes, ceramics, paintings, and calligraphy.
    • Jade carving factory: Where tourists can see the whole process of jade carving.
    • Oriental Pearl TV Tower: Standing by the Huangpu River with 468 meters high, Oriental Pearl TV Tower is the highest TV Tower in Asia.

Day 4 - Shanghai/Guilin

Day 5 - Guilin

Day 6 Guilin/Beijing

A full day with visits to Elephant Trunk Hill, Fubo Hill, Reed Flute Cave and Seven Star Park.

    • Elephant Trunk Hill: Located at the conjunction of the Li River & the Peach Blossom River, the whole hill looks very much like a giant elephant with a long trunk, it is the symbol of Guilin city.
    • Fubo Hill: You can see lots of rock stone carvings & Buddha statues since Tang Dynasty.Have a wonderful bird's-eye view of Guilin city if you climb to the summit.
    • Reed Flute Cave: Known as "the Palace of Natural Arts" where you can see beautiful stalactites & stalagmites, learn how they are formed.
    • Seven Star Park: The biggest park in Guilin, where you can see a giant Panda Meimei, the Camel Hill, Bonsai Garden and more sites if you are energetic enough to climb some hills.

Days 7 and 8 Beijing

Another busy day: the Great Wall, Ming Tomb, finished with a fabulous Peking Duck Banquet at the most famous restaurant, Quan Ju De.

Full day trip to the Tian'anmen Square, the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, and the Summer Palace. Enjoy the Peking Opera Show in the evening.

    • The Tian'anmen Square: The largest city square in the world.
    • The Forbidden City: The largest imperial palace in China during the Ming and Qing dynasties with a history of around 600 years.
    • The Temple of Heaven: The place where the ancient emperors used to pray for the God's bless of the whole nation.

Day 9 Beijing/Xi´an

Accommodation:Hyatt Hotel (Five stars) Transfer via: PM flight CZ 6936 18:05 à 19:50 Visit Hutongs by rickshaw. Take afternoon flight to Xi'an.Once upon you get to Xi'an, be met & transferred to your hotel in Xi´an. - Hutongs: The old narrow paths where common people lived. All the Hutongs crisscross with each other, dotted with the Kindergarten, the Bell Tower, the Drum Tower, the Tea House, and the lake, House of Gong Infant and local people´s houses among them.

Day 10 Xi´an

Accommodation:Hyatt Hotel (Five stars) Visit the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses, the Bell Tower and the Wild Goose Pagoda. Enjoy the Tang Dynasty show in the evening. - The Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses: The greatest archaeological findings of the century: the army of terra-cotta warriors and the bronze chariots entombed in vast underground vaults at emperor Qin´s tomb. - The Bell Tower: The emblem of Xi´an city. - The Ancient City Wall: An extension of the old Tang Dynasty structure boasting the most complete city wall that survives through Chinese long history. - The Wild Goose Pagoda: The pagoda where widely renowned Master Xuanzang (Monk Tripitaka) stored his classics brought from India. - The Tang Dynasty show: The show that presents the palace dances and sings in the Tang Dynasty when Xian was the capital.

Day 11 Xi´an/Shanghai

Transfer via: PM flight MU 2159 20:50 à 22:50 Visit the Provincial Museum, the Ancient City Wall and the Hanyang Tomb. Take afternoon flight to Shanghai Hongqiao airport. Arrive at Shanghai. Be met and transferred to the hotel with your private guide and vehicle. Free at leisure for the rest of the day.
- The Provincial Museum: One of the main museums in China which holds numerous unearthed cultural relics of China. - The Hanyang Tomb: The Jing Emperor´s tomb in Han Dynasty which was opened in 2001 and is famous for its rich collections of different kinds of tombs. Be met & transferred to Gene´s home.

Day 12 Shanghai/Hangzhou

have city tours to West Lake, Lingyin Temple, Feilai Peak, Six Harmonies Pagoda & Tea Plantation Farm . West Lake:Lying on the west edge of Hangzhou city, West Lake is the symbol of Hangzhou as well as one of the most beautiful sights in China.
Feilai Peak: situated in front of Lingyin Temple, is famous for its more than 470 stone carvings of Buddhist figures, which dated back from the 10th to 14th centuries.
Lingyin Temple: Lingyin Temple is one of the ten most famous ancient Buddhist temples in China. It also houses various Buddhist literature and treasures. Six Harmony Pagoda: Highly erected by the Qiantang River and to the south of the West Lake, it is a perfect symbol of brick-and-wood structure built in the ancient China. It was first built in 970 AD in the Northern Song dynasty (960-1127). The name "six harmonies" comes from the six Buddhist ordinances, meaning "harmonies of the heaven, earth, east, west, south and north".

Day 13 Shanghai/Suzhou/Shanghai

Cruise on the Grand Canal. In the afternoon, visit the Humble Administrator´s Garden Grand Canal:The Grand Canal ranks alongside the Great Wall of China as the country´s greatest engineering achievement and it is the longest man-made waterway in world. Cruising on the Canal,you can see the local people´s life. Humble Ministrator´s Garden: The garden is the best representative of Chinese classical gardens,constructed in the Ming dynasty. Focused on a central pond with pavilions, terraces, chambers, and towers located nearby, the garden is divided into three parts: the eastern, middle and western parts.

Day 14 Shanghai/Departure

Free shopping day, then take the Maglev Train station, the fastest train in the world, riding on a frictionless cushion created by electromagnets. With a top speed of 431 km/hour it will quickly get you to the airport and on your way home.
